WHITE BEAR LAKE, MINN., March 8, 2017 – The days of controlling deflection using stacked cardboard, gum wrappers or any other type of makeshift shim are over. Wilson Tool International, the largest independent manufacturer of tooling systems for punch presses, press brakes, and punch and die components for the stamping and tableting industries, today introduced Express Crowning™, a new system to help control deflection or “the canoe effect” in press brake applications over four feet long.
Part of the company’s extensive line of bending solutions, the new Express Crowning™ system gives fabricators the flexibility to fine-tune the deflection-compensating curve of the unit to overcome the nuances built into the machine. Press brake operators can now crown the lower beam with manual or electric options and secure dies with manual or hydraulic power.
